The Homestead at Zion
About Us
Our History

DW Johnson is the proprietor of The Homestead at Zion and has farmed the land since he was a boy. The Homestead was originally built, farmed and owned by DW Johnson’s grandfather, Frank Monroe Johnson, a Purple Heart recipient of WWI. The tobacco farm was home to him, his wife Sallie, and their eight children. Later the farm became home to DW’s father, mother and seven siblings. The farm no longer produces tobacco and is now covered with beautiful wheat, cotton and corn fields. This historical place has been transformed into a beautiful event venue while leaving traces of its history throughout the property and its buildings.
